There were 3,078 Black students enrolled in Livingston Parish School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 12.5% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Livingston Parish School District welcomed 26,433 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 11.6% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the district.

Among the 45 schools in Livingston Parish School District, Walker High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 266 students.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
