Female students represented largest slice of St. Helena Parish's student body in 2022-23 school year cycle

In the 2022-23 school year, 50.1% of students enrolled in St. Helena Parish schools were female, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

There were 1,076 students in the halls of St. Helena Parish schools, comprising 537 male students (49.9%) and 539 female pupils (50.1%).

During the previous school year, St. Helena Parish’s student body consisted of 50.5% male and 49.5% female.

Across the state, 51.1% of students were male and 48.9% were female.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students in Louisiana, which is worse than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students. A higher student-to-teacher ratio has been found to negatively impact students' school performance.
