Steve Scalise criticizes Democratic leadership and Biden administration actions in recent tweets

Steve Scalise, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 1st district since 2008, posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account criticizing the Democratic Party and the Biden administration between October 30 and October 31, 2025.

On October 30, Scalise commented on the leadership of the Democratic Party, stating, "The Democrat Party has been a rudderless ship. But now they have their new leader: Zohran Mamdani."

Later that day, he addressed an investigation involving federal agencies under President Joe Biden’s administration. In his post, Scalise wrote, "The Arctic Frost probe displays the shocking extent of Joe Biden’s weaponization of government. Biden’s FBI and DOJ targeted political opponents, issuing 197 subpoenas requesting records relating to more than 430 Republican individuals and organizations – including Members of".

On October 31, Scalise commented on an ongoing government shutdown and its effects on Americans. He stated, "Americans are suffering & tomorrow it will get worse for millions. Republicans have voted repeatedly to end the shutdown. The only thing standing in the way? Democrats who are catering to their radical base. This is NOT a game. Democrats - stop the suffering. End the shutdown."

Scalise has served in Congress since replacing Bobby Jindal in 2008 and previously held seats in both chambers of Louisiana's state legislature. Born in New Orleans in 1965 and currently residing in Jefferson, he graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
