House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and other Republican leaders have emphasized the importance of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) in addressing recent violent riots in Los Angeles. They argue that the bill will provide necessary funding for more ICE and Border Patrol agents, which they believe is crucial for maintaining law and order.

Scalise criticized Democrats for voting against the bill, suggesting their opposition stems from a desire to maintain open borders and sanctuary policies. "Anybody who watched these just inflammatory scenes roll out in Los Angeles over the weekend sees one more example why we need to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill," Scalise stated. He expressed confidence that the Senate would pass the bill quickly so it could be sent to President Trump's desk.

The Office of Management and Budget's report on OBBB highlights potential economic benefits, including significant tax cuts and a projected reduction of over $1.4 trillion in the national deficit. Scalise pointed out that this would result in increased wages and job creation, with no taxes on tips or overtime work. "One more really positive thing that came out just a few days ago, the White House's Office of Management and Budget did their assessment on the House's version of the One Big Beautiful Bill," he said.

Additionally, Scalise mentioned an upcoming vote on a rescissions package aimed at eliminating wasteful government spending identified by DOGE. This package is seen as an initial step towards reducing federal expenditure.
