Steve Scalise highlights effects of 'One Big Beautiful Bill' on economy and energy

Steve Scalise, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 1st district since 2008, has used his social media platform to promote the impacts of the "One Big Beautiful Bill," a legislative package he credits with delivering economic benefits for American workers and families.

On August 20, 2025, Scalise posted, "President Trump is delivering real relief for working Americans. Everywhere you look, the One Big Beautiful Bill is working: More money in your pocket More jobs for American workers More security for our nation".

Later that day, Scalise shared another update regarding domestic energy policy: "GREAT news for American Energy! President Trump and Interior Secretary Burgum announced an offshore leasing schedule for the next fifteen years as directed by the One Big Beautiful Bill to deliver on our promise to unleash American energy by boosting domestic production and".

On August 21, 2025, Scalise cited analysis from an independent organization: "Tax Foundation confirms: the One Big Beautiful Bill cuts taxes for EVERY state. Average cut: $3,752 per taxpayer Nearly 1 million new jobs https://t.co/dpS7LAhpm5".

Scalise has represented Louisiana’s 1st District in Congress since succeeding Bobby Jindal in 2008. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Louisiana legislature between 1996 and 2008. Born in New Orleans in 1965 and currently residing in Jefferson, Scalise holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University.
