House Majority Leader Steve Scalise appeared on Newsmax to discuss recent developments regarding the FBI's classification of the 2017 shooting incident and other legislative matters. Scalise addressed concerns over the FBI initially labeling the event as "suicide by cop" rather than domestic terrorism, a decision he criticized. He praised Kash Patel for releasing information that corrected this classification.

Scalise stated, “Well, I'm really glad and appreciative that Kash Patel got the facts out, because there were a lot of things not only suppressed, there were inaccuracies, deliberate inaccuracies, in the original report.” He expressed frustration over what he described as attempts to change the narrative about the shooting's political motivations.

The interview also touched upon Scalise's participation in the Congressional Baseball Game aimed at raising funds for charity. Scalise remarked on his role as leadoff batter and emphasized both the fun and competitive aspects of the event: “We want to win the game. We're going to raise over two and a half million dollars for charity.”

Additionally, Scalise discussed efforts to advance President Trump's agenda through reconciliation. He highlighted a bill designed to prevent a $4.5 trillion tax hike on American families while supporting border security measures such as hiring more ICE agents. According to Scalise, this legislation aligns with President Trump's priorities: “It's One Big Beautiful Bill... it will get our economy moving again.”

Scalise criticized Democrats for their lack of support, attributing it to opposition against Trump's signature achievements. He urged swift action from Republicans in both chambers to pass this bill by July 4th.
