House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, alongside Speaker Mike Johnson, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain, addressed the potential impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill. Scalise introduced Paul Danos, CEO of a family-owned offshore energy service company in Southeast Louisiana. Danos discussed how the bill could foster job creation, lower prices, and enhance energy security for the United States and its allies.

Scalise praised President Trump's recent actions against Iran's nuclear program: "Well, over the weekend, we saw President Trump take strong and decisive action to ensure that Iran does not any longer have a nuclear weapons program... But the President didn't just take that strong and decisive action. Under the War Powers Resolution... he notified Congress within 48 hours of the actions that were taken."

Scalise also mentioned political violence in Minnesota: "Now, we've got another busy week here in Washington. Today, we're going to be debating the resolution to condemn the political violence in Minnesota."

Regarding protection from violent illegal immigrants, Scalise stated: "We're going to also bring more legislation to protect Americans from illegals who come here and commit violence against our constituents."

Discussing the One Big Beautiful Bill further, Scalise said it aims to boost America's economy by providing tax certainty and promoting energy independence. He highlighted provisions like border security and emphasized American energy production.

Paul Danos elaborated on how this bill benefits family-run businesses like his: “Thank you, Leader Scalise... We are a 78-year-old... firm headquartered down in Southeast Louisiana." He explained that consistent lease sales are crucial for long-term investment decisions necessary for growth.

Danos concluded by emphasizing energy security as national security: “So this bill will help to restore American energy dominance... The Gulf of America is critical to America's energy..."
