Steve Scalise, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 1st district since 2008, posted a series of tweets in late July 2025 addressing political developments and recent reports involving the previous administration.
On July 22, Scalise wrote, "While Democrats spread false narratives and push their socialist agenda, Republicans are delivering real change and the results the American people voted for."
The following day, on July 23, he commented on legislative progress with another post: "That’s the One Big Beautiful Bill effect "
Later that same day, Scalise referenced a newly released report concerning intelligence activities during the Obama-Biden administration. He stated: "President Trump was RIGHT. The Russia hoax was a politically driven fraud. This newly released report reveals how the Obama-Biden intel community was weaponized to take down an elected president with lies. The truth is out. Now there must be accountability."
Scalise has represented Louisiana's 1st District in Congress since succeeding Bobby Jindal in 2008. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both the Louisiana House of Representatives and briefly in the Louisiana Senate from 1996 through early 2008. Born in New Orleans in 1965 and currently residing in Jefferson, Scalise holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University.
